Target-shooter faces
    charges in incident
   

   
David Starruick, 19, of Schwabe Street, Freeland, was charged Monday with
discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and reckless endangerment,
township police said.
   
Township officer William Feissner said Starruick on Feb. 24 was target
shooting at 2 p.m. near Main Street in the Upper Lehigh section when a few
bullets nearly stuck a person and struck a building.
   
Police said the target was in a direct line with the building.

Window smashed,
   
car stereo taken
   
Police said the window of Alex Shumack’s 1991 Chevrolet Camaro was smashed
while it was parked on West Union Street sometime between Friday night and
Saturday afternoon.
   
Police said stereo equipment was stolen from the vehicle of Shumack, 17, of
Hunlock Township.
   
The theft was the most recent in a series of similar acts in Shickshinny.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 542-4117.

Four Goodyear tires and four 16-inch aluminum rims valued at $4,000 were
removed from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo at Fairway Chevrolet between Saturday and
Monday, state police said.

PLYMOUTH TWP.
   
Man faces DUI,
   
other charges
   
Harris Baluski, 19, of Shickshinny, was charged recently with driving under
the influence and other charges.
   
Township police Sgt. Anthony Gorey said Baluski was driving a vehicle that
failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of state Route 29 and U.S.
Route 11 in the West Nanticoke section at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.
   
Gorey said Baluski showed signs of intoxication and was given a field
sobriety test, which he failed. Baluski had a blood alcohol concentration of
0.25 percent, Gorey said.
   
Baluski was charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug
paraphernalia and numerous summary violations, including underage drinking.
   
A passenger in Baluski’s vehicle, William Bentley, 19, of Shickshinny, was
also charged with underage drinking.
