PIAA SOFTBALL
   
GNA to face Muhlenberg
    The Greater Nanticoke Area softball team will take on Muhlenberg in the
quarterfinals of the PIAA Class 2A softball playoffs at 3 p.m. tomorrow at
Patriots Park in Allentown.
   
Nanticoke (19-1, District 2 champ) advanced Monday with a 5-3 victory over
Notre Dame Green Pond at Patriots Park. Muhlenberg (23-4, District 3 champ)
advanced by defeating Troy, 3-1.
   
The trip to Patriots park is about 90 minutes. Take Interstate 476 South
(the Pennsylvania Turnpike) to the Lehigh Valley Exit. Get on Route 22 East
and take exit for Route 309 South. Take Route 309 South until it merges with
Interstate 78 East. Take I-78 East to the Lehigh Street Exit. Turn left at the
end of the exit ramp to Lehigh Street. Follow Lehigh Street to Wyoming Street.
Turn left onto Wyoming Street. Patriots Park will be on your right (source:

Exeter man hits for ace
   

   

   
Mel Hall of Exeter recorded a hole in one Monday at Hollenback Golf Club.
   
He aced the 183-yard No. 5 hole and it occurred during league play of the
North End Slovak Citizens Club Golf League. It was witnessed by John Kebles,
A.J. Kondracki and Steve Hvozdovic.
