Bertha T. Mazeitis, 86, of Courtdale died Wednesday morning in the
Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
    Born in Plains Twp., she was a daughter of the late Peter and Josephine
(Ciobowski) Wondolski.
   
She was employed for Nelson Furniture as a material handler and for Wyoming
Valley West School District until her retirement. She was a member of Holy
Family Parish, Luzerne.
   
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mazeitis, in 1979; sisters,
Josephine Kwitkowski, Stella Chulvick, and Sarah Letinski; brothers, Stanley
and Joseph Wondolski.
   
Surviving are her son, James Mazeitis, Courtdale; daughters, Rita Gagatek,
Swoyersville; and Joan DuBritz, Plainview, Long Island, NY; seven
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
   
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Betz-Jastremski,
Funeral Home, Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, with Father David Cappelloni, pastor,
officiating. Internment will be held in the Parish Cemetery, Lehman. Friends
may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
   
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Holy
Family Parish Building Fund, 574 Bennett Street, P.O. Box 125, Luzerne, PA
18709 or Hospice Community Care, 385 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704.
