Police on Wednesday removed evidence from an apartment on North Main Street in Ashley, where a man was reportedly beaten between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Monday. Ashley Borough Police Chief John Bell said a warrant has been issued for Lauren Rushton, 28, last known address in Wilkes-Barre. He said she will be charged in connection with an altercation at 113 N. Main St. in which William Ungvarsky, 52, was injured. Bell said Ungvarsky was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and later transferred to Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Township, for treatment of traumatic injuries. Bell said Ungvarsky was listed in serious but stable condition and is expected to recover. Bell said state police assisted borough police with processing the crime scene. A search warrant has been issued, Bell said. Bell said Rushton had been ‘in and out’ of Ungvarsky’s residence over the last six months. Bell said no guns were involved in the incident.
