Louis Stefanski, 51, of West Broad Street, Nanticoke, died Thursday morning, August 16, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born April 27, 1956, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was a son of the late Stephen Joseph and Jane George Stefanski.
He attended Wilkes-Barre Township schools and later studied carpentry at the Johnson School of Technology.
He spent his life as a devoted husband, father and caregiver to his late wife, the former Deborah Kalish, who died in 2004.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debbie Lou Stefanski; brother, William Stefanski.
He is survived by sons, Jimmy Kalish, of White Haven, Stephen Stefanski, of Hanover Township and Louis Stefanski, of Nanticoke; daughters, Lisa Stefanski, of Wilkes-Barre, Kimberly Stefanski, of Nanticoke and Cindy Stefanski, of Nanticoke; two grandsons, Alex and Stephen; brothers, Stephen Stefanski, of New Jersey, Joseph Stefanski, of Wilkes-Barre Township and John Stefanski, of Wilkes-Barre Township; sisters, Caroline Elick, of Florida, Ann Stefanski, of North Carolina, Mary Fischer, of Wilkes-Barre Township and Evelyn Kline, of Sweet Valley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with Chaplain Charles Fantaskey, of Hospice Community Care, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
