Anna Levy, 94, of Wilmington, Del., formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday evening at the Kutz Home in Wilmington, Del.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 15, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Max Wachman and Dora Lerner Wachman Fox, and the step-daughter of Boris Fox.
She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Plymouth, and initially worked as a bookkeeper for Black Diamond Food Stores. Anna married her husband, Morris, in 1937 and later joined him in his business, the Shawnee Tobacco Company in Plymouth, where she worked for many years.
Anna generously donated her time to various volunteer activities. She served on the Board of the Federation of Senior Citizens Clubs and Organizations, was a volunteer for the Jewish Family Service, was active in blood drives, and, most notably, assisted persons with mental disabilities. She was also caretaker for her stepbrother, Nathan.
Anna was active for many years in the Jewish Community Center Leisure Lounge, where she especially enjoyed acting in plays and shows. She took pride in having been elected Purim Queen in 1985. She enjoyed trips to the Catskill Mountains with her sister Sylvia and their close friend Ceil Brand.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris; her sister Sylvia; her stepbrother, Nathan Fuchs; and her dear friend Harry Gelb.
Anna lived most of her years first in Plymouth, then in Wilkes-Barre, in the B’Nai B’Rith Apartments. At 92 years of age, she moved to the Captain’s Deck, an assisted living facility, to be near her niece and nephew in Wilmington, Del. There she delighted in the friendship of some very special people.
Anna, and her many “boobe-mysehs,” will be truly missed.
Surviving are her sister Ruth Eisenstein, Scottsdale, Arizona; nephew Marvin Gerstein and his wife, Helen, Wilmington, Del.; nieces Jill Brennan, of Canada; and Robin Darum, of Arizona; great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Rabbi Nachman Bruce.
Internment will follow at the Workman’s Circle Cemetery, Shavertown. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the National Tay-Sachs Association, 2001 Beacon St., Suite 204, Brighton, MA 02135.
