Waverly Elementary School has presented a pasta dinner for many years, but never before have they had professional chefs in the kitchen, donating their time, fresh ingredients and expertise.
Chris and Beth Barcia, owners of the highly-acclaimed Italian restaurant Palazzo 53, are also Waverly parents. When they heard about the fundraiser, they graciously offered up their services for the night.
The Barcia’s menu for Pasta Night in Waverly:
• Caesar Salad- Palazzo’s homemade dressing with fresh grated parmesan cheese and croutons
• Penne with Marinara- Plum tomato basil sauce with garlic and olive oil
• Meatballs- Homemade and pan fried
• Beverages and desserts are included- Desserts are being created by two talented Waverly mothers whose baking skills are in high demand in the community.
Zita Percsi and Carie Hildebrand will offer a plethora of Italian-themed delights including decorative cakes and cupcakes reminiscent of the famous Cake Boss.
The dinner will be held from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Waverly Elementary School, 103 Waverly Road. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children and are available for either sit down service (where diners will be served by members of the fourth grade) or take-out.
