In support of local authorship, Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Wilkes-Barre Township is seeking published authors from the Wyoming Valley region to take part in an April book-signing event.

The event is broken up into three sessions and will be at 7 p.m. April 11, 2 p.m. April 12 and 2 p.m. April 13. Each session is to feature 4 to 6 authors who write varied genres including fiction, local history, self-improvement and children’s books.

Barnes & Noble stores around the country have similar events at different times of the year.

“It allows us to support self-published and print-on-demand titles that may not otherwise be represented,” Donna Wench, the bookstore’s community relations manager, said. “We’re very pleased to support local authors in this way, and we’re hoping our community shows support by attending this event.”

Self-published and print-on-demand authors who are interested in participating should submit their books directly to Wench and include a mailing address, a phone number and email address.

Submissions must be in by Feb. 22 and sessions are to be filled on a first-come basis. Titles will be considered on their individual merits.

For more information, contact Wench at 570-829-4352 or crm2996@bn.com.
