Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Massara of Exeter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on Sept. 13, 1958, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, by the late Rev. Enrico Giovetto.
Members of the wedding party were: Gelsomina Moriconi, sister of the bride; Annette Davis, sister of the groom; Frances Scatena, cousin of the bride; flower girl Diane Giovannini, cousin of the bride; Frank Parente and Nuncio Massara, cousins of the groom; Bruno Tafani, cousin of the bride; and ring bearer John Mattei, family friend of the bride.
Mrs. Massara, the former Adalgisa Moriconi, is the daughter of the late Sestilio and Gina Moriconi.
Mr. Massara is the son of the late James and Margaret Massara.
Mr. and Mrs. Massara are the proprietors of Massara’s Market, Pittston, since 1979.
The couple has two daughters, Tina LoBrutto, Hughestown, and Gina Smith, Pittston.
They have four grandchildren: Maria Rose and Carmen Anthony LoBrutto, and MaryKate and Colin James Smith.
The Rev. Joseph D. Sibilano witnessed a renewal of the couple’s vows and bestowed a blessing upon them at a Mass celebrated on Sept. 13, 2008.
A dinner took place in their honor at St. Anthony of Padua’s church hall after the Mass.
