Early birds were treated to a beautiful sunrise to kick off the week this morning.

The sunshine did little to ward off the bone-chilling temperatures. The National Weather Service reported temperatures in the single digits at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

Temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 20s today with sunny skies. The wind chill could make it feel as low as -2 degrees. Snow is expected late tonight after 2 a.m., with temperatures dropping to the lower 20s. Around 2 inches of new snow accumulation is expected.

Snow is expected once again tomorrow before 1 p.m. with highs climbing to the upper 30s. An additional 2 inches of snow is expected. Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Tuesday night, with lows dropping to the mid 20s.

It is shaping up to be a warm day on Wednesday, with highs climbing to the mid 40s. There will be a chance of rain and snow showers throughout the day. Temperatures will drop back down to the mid to upper 20s on Wednesday night, and there will be a chance of snow showers.
