HAZLETON — The state’s top cop came to Hazleton on Wednesday to trumpet the success of her Mobile Street Crimes Unit, which has netted more than 100 arrests and seized more than 35,000 packets of heroin in southern Luzerne County over the past five months.


Just in the last three days, state Attorney General Kathleen Kane said, agents made more than 40 arrests and seized 9,060 packets of heroin as part of Operation Rising Star — a moniker chosen by Hazleton Police Chief Frank DeAndrea.


Kane said Hazleton has been “a breeding ground” for the distribution of heroin, with interstates 80 and 81 nearby as a convenient pipeline to New York City and northern New Jersey suppliers.


Those from Luzerne County who were arrested in the past three days and their charges are:


• Henry Abreu, 36, of West County Road, Sugarloaf Township — delivery of marijuana, conspiracy to deliver marijuana, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Julio Acosta Vargas, 33, of West 5th Street, Hazleton — delivery of crack cocaine/heroin, possession with the intent to deliver cocaine/heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Johnny Boynton, 35, of Chestnut Street, Hazleton — possession with intent to deliver heroin, delivery of molly, criminal use of a communication facility, conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver heroin.


• Juanita Boynton, 37, of Chestnut Street, Hazleton — conspiracy possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Rafael Colon, 42, of East 1st Street, Hazleton — possession of synthetic marijuana.


• Dennis Cooper, 55, of Peace Street, Hazleton — possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Pedro Crespo, 19, of North Vine Street, Hazleton — delivery of heroin, possession of heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Victor De Los Santos, 23, of East Maple Street, Hazleton — possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Tracey Decker, 43, of East Diamond Avenue, Hazleton — possession of heroin, possession of cocaine.


• Gerard Diaz-Perez, 34, of East Mine Street, Hazleton — delivery of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver heroin.


• Robert Duffalo Jr., Hayes Street, Hazleton — making false statements on a gun application.


• Crystal Fehnel, 26, of West Main Street, Weatherly, Carbon County — possession of heroin.


• John Felice Jr., 45, of Ridge Street, Freeland — delivery of heroin, delivery of Xanax, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Angelo Fiola, 51, of Jumper Road, Wilkes-Barre — possession with intent to deliver heroin, criminal use of a communication facility, possession with intent to deliver heroin.


• Matthew Genery, 25, of West Laurel Street, Hazleton — possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana.


• Sheila Gimbi, 28, of Hayes Street, Hazleton — possession of heroin.


• Felipe Gonzalez, 35, of Main Street, Drifton — possession of synthetic marijuana.


• Erin Gaultier, 52, of Alvin Street, Freeland — possession of heroin, possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia.


• Yovanne Gutierrez, 22, of West 1st Street, Hazleton — delivery of heroin, conspiracy to deliver heroin.


• Dennis Hall, 36, of Cleveland Street, Hazleton — delivery of heroin, possession of heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Alyssa Kalnas, 20, 800 Locust St., Hazleton Apartments No. 814, Hazleton — possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Jennifer Marchetti, 33, 15 Old St. Johns Lane, Drums — possession of heroin.


• Chatelle Medashekski, 19, 527 Vine St., Hazleton — criminal use of a communication facility, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, criminal conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver heroin.


• Joshua Minaker, 28, 208 Washington St., Freeland — possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia.


• Duamel Munoz Rodriguez, 36, 562 Seybert St., Hazleton — conspiracy to deliver heroin, conspiracy to possess heroin.


• Robert Nemeth, 35, 63 Center Hill Road, Sugarloaf — possession of heroin.


• Pablo Padilla, 25, 523 Ridge Ave., West Hazleton — criminal use of a communication facility, possession with the intent to deliver crack, possession with the intent to deliver crack cocaine.


• Douglas Patton, 43, 439 E. Diamond Ave., Hazleton — delivery of heroin, criminal use of a communication facility.


• Jonathan Peguero, 28, 589 Alter St., Hazleton — possession with the intent to deliver synthetic marijuana, criminal conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver, possession of synthetic marijuana. On a separate complaint, delivery of heroin, possession of heroin.


• William Rivera Jr., 45, 560 Carson St., Hazleton — delivery of heroin, conspiracy to deliver heroin, possession of heroin.


• Eric Stradford, 37, 301 Ridge Ave., West Hazleton — delivery of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin.
