DALLAS — At Wednesday’s regular meeting, council voted to award a bid for a new standby generator and the work associated with installing it to TJ Cannon Inc. in the amount of $17,114.


Council also awarded a contract to RN Fitch & Sons in the amount of $1,250 to install a natural gas line to the generator, and to Dagus, Inc. in the amount of $980 for a concrete pad and columns at the generator location.


Council acknowledged a reimbursement of $14,107 from the state for grant eligible-expenses that will be forwarded to the Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS Inc.


In other business, council voted to hire Jamie Barlow as a full-time worker in the Road Department, effective March 3, with an hourly rate of $14. Council also authorized Borough Manager Tracey Carr to seek applications for the 2014 Summer Recreation Program Counselor positions.


A spring clean-up will be held Monday, May 5 through Saturday, May 10 at the municipal building from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. More information will soon be posted on borough’s website www.dallasborough.org.


Council’s next work session will be March 17 at 7 p.m. and the regular meeting will be March 19 at 7 p.m.
