Joanne Marie Lupas, 48, a resident of Plains and Laflin, died June 7, 2008 at her home.
Born in Plains, she was a daughter of attorney Anthony and Lillian Novitsky Lupas, of Laflin. Joanne was one of God’s special children who loved music and watching movies. She could touch your heart and always put a smile on everyone’s face. She loved summer, swimming in her pool, and at Christmas she became Mrs. Claus and would be in charge of handing out presents.
She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. She attended St. Ann’s Academy and graduated from Luzerne Intermediate Unit Special Education Program.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are brothers, A.J. Lupas and wife Marlene, McLean, Va.; Judge David Lupas and wife Cheryl, Laflin; sister, best friend and co-caregiver, Dianne Black and husband, Raymond, Laflin; nephews and nieces, Jay and Josh Lupas, Ray and Shelley Black, Kyle and Jacob Abby and Gwen Lupas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.
