Gerald J. “Cimmer” Cimakasky Sr., 65, of Moosic, died unexpectedly April 25, 2009 at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace A. Petro Cimakasky, on May 12, 2001.
Born in Duryea, on Dec. 2, 1943, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna Sakocius Cimakasky. He was a graduate of Duryea High School in 1962 and worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Holy Rosary RC Church in Duryea.
He is survived by his three sons, Gerald Cimakasky Jr., of Moosic; Joseph Cimakasky and wife, Renee, of Pittsburgh, and James Cimakasky, at home; two brothers, Frank Cimakasky and wife, Patricia, of Meshoppen; and twin brother, George Cimakasky and wife, Kathleen, of Brookhaven; and his grandson, Christian Cimakasky.
Funeral services were April 29 from the Kearney Funeral Home, Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Duryea. Interment parish cemetery.
