NANTICOKE — Luzerne County Community College will be closed today, a day after school officials and police say the campus received a cyber threat.

The closure includes the main campus and all off-campus sites. All day and evening classes are cancelled, according to the school.

Students and staff were sent home at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday when President Tom Leary said the campus received a threatening email.

Leary would not disclose the threat or if the threat was directed at a specific building or person.

Police Chief Bill Shultz said authorities are treating the email as a cyber threat.
