NEWARK, N.J. — Mike Smith made 33 saves and the Tampa Bay Lightning finished off the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Sunday in the completion of a game that was suspended two nights earlier because a lighting problem created a safety issue for the players.

Tampa Bay led 3-0 when play was suspended Friday night with 9:12 left in the second period, then killed off the final 29:12 on Sunday to snap a 10-game losing streak against New Jersey. Only about 3,000 fans returned for the completion of the game.

Steven Stamkos scored twice — once Friday and once Sunday — and Steve Downie and Brandon Bochenski added goals in the game in which the players agreed not to protest playing three days in a row. On Saturday night, the Devils won 2-1 in overtime in Montreal, and the Lightning fell 4-1 in Philadelphia.

Travis Zajac and Zach Parise scored for New Jersey.

Hurricanes 4, Senators 1

RALEIGH, N.C. — Rod Brind’Amour scored the winning goal, and Cam Ward made 31 saves for Carolina to hand Ottawa its fourth straight loss.

Tom Kostopoulos, Brett Carson and Eric Staal also scored to help Carolina win consecutive games for the first time since early December.

Chris Kelly scored for Ottawa, and Pascal LeClaire stopped 29 shots.

Brind’Amour, one of the heroes of Carolina’s Stanley Cup run in 2006, has had a tough season, ranking last in the NHL in plus/minus and going 35 games without a goal. But he scored his second in the last three games, slapping a shot past Leclaire’s outstretched left leg late in the second period.

Ducks 3, Blackhawks 1

CHICAGO — Jonas Hiller was spectacular in goal for Anaheim, making 42 saves in the Ducks’ victory over Chicago.

Corey Perry, Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne scored for the Ducks, who have won four consecutive games. Hiller has allowed only six goals during the streak, which began Tuesday — two days after a 5-2 loss in Chicago with Jean-Sebastien Giguere in net.

Anaheim had only 12 shots on goal, tying the franchise record for fewest shots, last done on Oct. 22, 1996, against Philadelphia. It also tied Chicago’s record for fewest shots allowed, most recently against the Minnesota North Stars on Dec. 8, 1991.

Blue Jackets 2, Stars 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Mathieu Garon made 26 saves for his second shutout of the season, and Raffi Torres and Antoine Vermette scored in Columbus’ ctory over Dallas.

The Blue Jackets have won three in a row after losing 21 of their previous 24 games.

The shutout was the 16th of Garon’s career.

The Blue Jackets got the only goal they needed at 8:20 of the opening period.

On a three-man rush, Derick Brassard slid a cross-ice pass from the left wing that deflected off the skates of defenseman Maxime Fortunus. The puck slid all the way to the right dot, where Torres went to one knee to one-time it past Marty Turco for his 13th of the season. Vermette extended his points streak to four games with a late empty-netter.
