Carissa Messimer and Jason Hyman were united in marriage May 31, 2009, at the Westmount Country Club, West Paterson, N.J.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Linda Messimer, Mountain Top. She is the granddaughter of Daniel and Mary Varchol and Robert and Beverly Messimer, Lower Askam, and Eleanor Messimer, Nanticoke.

The groom is the son of Edward and Linda Hyman, Marlboro, N.J.

The bride, escorted by her parents, chose her sisters, Kylie and Kerri Messimer, as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren D’Amico and Nerissa Rouzer, friends of the bride.

An evening cocktail hour and reception followed an outdoor ceremony and were held at the Westmount Country Club.

Sister of the bride, Kerri, sang a song with the band, and sister of the bride, Kylie, recited a poem in honor of the couple.

The bride is a graduate of Crestwood High School and the University of Maryland with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in government and politics and criminal justice. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore, where she graduated cum laude. Recently being admitted to the Maryland Bar, attorney Hyman is currently serving as a law clerk in the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court of Maryland.

The groom is a graduate of Marlboro High School, New Jersey, and the University of Maryland with Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and criminal justice. He recently earned a master’s degree in forensic science from the George Washington University and is employed by the federal government.

The couple resides in Annapolis, Md.
