The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic announces a new series of “lite” concerts.

Chamber Music Series concerts are performed by small ensembles of philharmonic musicians led by principal players and hosted by Music Director Lawrence Loh.

Presented in intimate local settings, this concert series is designed to showcase a different side of the Philharmonic.

“Magnificent Mozart” will be performed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre.

Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic’s Principal Clarinetist Pascal Archer will perform Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto with Strings” accompanied by members of the NEPA Philharmonic String Section.

“The Concertmaster and a Piano” will be performed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, at The Colonnade, 401 Jefferson Ave., Scranton.

This sparkling concert features Grammy Award Nominee/Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic concertmaster Erica Kiesewetter accompanied by piano.

“The Horns Have It!” will be performed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2011 at the Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre.

This evening of music features the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic’s Principal Trombone Tom Olcott and members of the NEPA Philharmonic Brass Section.

“We’ve Got the Beat” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at The Colonnade, 401 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, featuring the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Percussion Section.

Light refreshments will be served as the audience enjoys an up-close view of musicians in a casual atmosphere.
