LUZERNE — The rebate period for 2014 county/municipal real estate property taxes and municipal per capita taxes ends April 30. To get credit for payments at the rebate amount, envelopes must be postmarked by April 30.
Taxes paid after that date will be at face value. If a receipt is requested, submit the whole bill and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the tax collector. Office hours are 6 to 7 p.m. Monday and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. If office hours are not convenient, payment arrangements can be made by calling 570-288-9640.
JENKINS TWP. — The discount period for 2014 tax bills for Luzerne County and Jenkins Township expires April 30. Office hours during the rebate period are 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the municipal building, 46 1/2 Main Street, Inkerman; and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at 3 Laflin Road, Inkerman.
Appointments can be arranged if hours are not convenient.
If your mortgage company pays the bill from an escrow account, forward them the bill as soon as possible. If you have not received a bill or have received one in error, contact the tax collector at 570-654-9710.
LARKSVILLE — Homeowners planning gas or water connections on streets are reminded an ordinance prevents newly paved streets from being dug or cut for a five-year period, except for emergency circumstances.
The following streets are being considered for paving, but have not been officially announced: Lisa, Michelle, Linda, Murray, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth streets. For information, call 570-714-9846 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
EDWARDSVILLE — The last day to pay taxes in rebate is April 30. New hours during face period are 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Anyone who did not receive a bill should call 570-288-7899. When paying bill, bring the entire tax bill so a correct receipt can be issued. If paying by mail and request a copy, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
