Harding

WILKES-BARRE — Todd G. Harding, a native of South Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, has announced he is running for the Democratic nomination in District A in the May 19 primary.

Harding, 35, has a degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University and is employed as the assistant purchasing agent for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.

Harding said he is a lifelong Democrat and is seeks to fill the seat currently occupied by George Brown, who decided to run for mayor.

“I will work to enact laws to make Wilkes-Barre a more progressive 21st century city,” Harding said. “I will thoroughly review city business and cast my vote independently and for what is in the best interest of District A”

Harding said the city has too many abandoned properties and he said housing is the key for a successful city.

“We need elected officials to combat the empty properties and deal with the owners who neglect their properties,” Harding said. “I believe we can do better.”

Harding said he purchased his property on Horton Street in 2010 and if elected, he said he will work with council and the new mayor and administration to move the city forward.
