DALLAS — At Wednesday’s council meeting, Borough Manager Tracey Carr announced that a spring cleanup will be held May 6-11.
The cleanup, which is for borough residents only, will take place at the borough building 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Permits can be purchased at the borough building.
Carr added that a curbside yard waste collection will begin the week of May 13. Permits, which cost $25 for the whole season, may also be purchased at the borough building.
The summer recreation program will be held from June 17 through Aug. 16 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Kenneth Young Memorial Park. The program is for borough children between the ages of 6 and 12.
Registration will be held at the borough building on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and Monday through Friday, May 20-24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $40 for the first child and $20 per additional child in a family.
Also, the council announced the borough has received a state Liquid Fuels Tax Fund payment of $68,537, which will be used for a storm water infrastructure project in the area of Lehman Avenue and Park Street.
On behalf of the borough, Carr thanked Misericordia University volunteers, Dallas Fire & Ambulance, Dunkin Donuts, Karen Fiorello and the borough Road Department for helping to make last month’s Easter Egg Hunt a success.
