JACKSON TWP. — Township supervisors announced Monday that at their June 3 meeting, the Dallas Area Municipal Authority will give a presentation about the DAMA/State Correctional Institution composting site in the township.
The venture will combine the SCI’s food waste composting program with DAMA’s yard waste composting program, said DAMA Executive Director Larry Spaciano.
He described the project as “the perfect cooperation between state and local government.”
In other matters:
· The township hired a part-time zoning officer/planning administrator, a part-time code enforcement officer, a part-time road worker and a part-time police officer.
· The council authorized solicitor Jeffrey Malak to institute a drug-and-alcohol testing program for all Jackson Township employees.
The board’s next meeting will be at 6 p.m. June 3 in the township building.
