HARVEYS LAKE — On Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a true “historic” symbol of boating from the early 1920s will be on display during the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society 24th Annual Boat Show at Grotto Marina.

The 1924 Great Lakes Runabout 26-foot boat, owned by Ralph Flowers, of Dallas, has been on Harveys Lake since it was new back in the early 1920s. It has been in a boathouse at the lake for more than 40 years and will appear in the boat show as a land display.

A fully-restored 1941 Chris Craft Barrelback 17-foot mahogany boat owned by local boat collector Walt Weir, of Harveys Lake, will be docked nearby for comparisons to the historic boat that is awaiting restoration.

John and Terry from Strawberry Jam Band will perform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Grotto Marina is located on Highway 415 at the entrance to the lake. Admission is free. Off-street parking is available in nearby lots.
