WILKES-BARRE -A man whose birthday is today walked into Wilkes-Barre General Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound Friday morning.
City police said Erick Mondelice, who turned 23, was “very uncooperative with police” while he was at the hospital just before 9 a.m.
Police said it remains unknown when and where Mondelice was shot.
Court records say Mondelice pleaded guilty to his role in an armed robbery on North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, on May 13, 2010, when he approached a man walking on the sidewalk and demanded his cell phone and wallet at gunpoint. The victim fled onto a passing Martz Bus.
Mondelice was sentenced July 28, 2011, to six-to-23 months in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, and was paroled March 15, 2012, according to court records.
