STRINESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities expect to release more information on a state trooper’s fatal shooting of a motorist on a central Pennsylvania interstate after an autopsy on the suspect’s body.

So far, authorities are saying the man tried to drag a state trooper into a cement median for about three-tenths of a mile before the trooper shot the man shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 83 in York County.

State police spokesman Cpl. Ryan Lawrence has since revealed that the officer first tried to use a Taser on the motorist driving a car with Virginia license plates.

Lawrence says the suspect was pulled over for an unspecified traffic violation. He died at the scene despite medical attention.

State police plan to review video from the trooper’s cruiser. The trooper’s injuries aren’t life-threatening.
