WILKES-BARRE - City police arrested Jasper M. Blount after a woman claimed he aimed a firearm at her during an argument in her Coal Street apartment.
Blount, 32, of Coal Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault and reckless endangerment. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
The woman told police she was in her apartment with Blount and several friends on June 30. Everyone was getting along until the woman and Blount engaged in an argument and he threatened to have sex with her in front of her children, according to the criminal complaint.
She claimed Blount forced her into a bedroom where a friend removed hi from on top of her, the complaint says.
The woman was upset, smashed a television, and left the apartment. She returned to get her car keys to take her children to a relative’s house when she said Blount aimed a firearm at her. Other people in the apartment distracted Blount as the woman fled the apartment, according to the complaint.
