Members of the Wilkes University’s incoming freshman class cleaned floors Monday morning at Ruth’s Place, a shelter service for women experiencing homelessness in Luzerne County, as part of the students’ summer orientation. From left are Israel Rodriguez; Catherine Sarver, sophomore mentor; Alec Williams and Shanye Ely. About 300 students volunteered in about 30 locations around the valley.
