CAPTIONS – WEATHER

Wednesday’s bright sunshine and cool weather had Wyoming Valley residents
playing in the pleasant spring air or taking their work outside or. On
Wilkes-Barre’s Public Square, Sean Grady of Larksville practices some moves on
his skateboard while waiting for friends. And Darlene McKennas of Wilkes-Barre
sits under the shade of the blooming cherry trees, reading some history as she
waits for her bus to College Misericordia. Wednesday’s high temperature
reached 55 degrees, with an unusually low humidity — under 20 percent at
times. Dave Solano, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in
Avoca, said such dry weather is more suited to the southwestern states than
Pennsylvania. The dry weather is expected to last through Friday, with
pleasant, sunny days and clear, cold nights. For the forecast, see
