WINCHESTER, Va. – Holding an 11 point lead at the break, Wilkes was unable to make it stand as host Shenandoah outscored the Lady Colonels 32-19 in the second half to post a 55-53 victory in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Shingleton Gymnasium.

The Lady Colonels built a 34-23 lead in the first half thanks to Elena Stambone’s 15 points on her way to leading Wilkes with 21 points and four rebounds. Chelsea Brown added 10 points and six rebounds for the Lady Colonels.

Wilkes opens its 2013-14 Freedom Conference schedule Wednesday hosting local rival Misericordia University at 6:00 p.m. at the Marts Center.
