DALLAS — Dallas School Board candidates Karen Kyle and Anthony Barbose
were top vote-getters on Democratic and Republican tickets in an unofficial
tally Tuesday night.

Results from Franklin Township were unavailable at press time.
Eight candidates cross-filed for the four available seats.

Unofficial figures pit Jamien Kozemko and Maureen Banks on the Democratic
ticket against Ted Wright and Frank Natitus on the Republican ticket in the
November general election.

Kyle said she was disappointed that her teammates who ran on a
“pro-education” ticket did not do better. “I’m disappointed that there may not
be more women on the board,” she said, though vowing to work hard for them
during the fall campaign.

Banks and Kyle questioned one polling result from Dallas Township that
showed Banks having zero votes. Both thought that total was highly improbable
and likely a mistake.

Barbose, 35, of Shavertown ran a “For Your Kids” campaign along with
Natitus, Wengen and Wright.
