The Pittston Active Adult Center is located at 441 North Main Street, Pittston. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Free coffee is served from 8:30 a.m. to closing. The center now has Wi-Fi available as well as three computers with internet access. Contact the center at 570-655-5561.
Healthy Steps Exercise classes are offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m.. Sit and Be Fit Exercise Class is offered at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. on Thursday. There is no charge for these classes.
Bingo is held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday, and at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Dance class, cards, shuffleboard, ceramic classes, crochet club, Wii bowling, needlepoint and much more are offered at the center.
Celebrate Chocolate month at the center on Monday, Feb. 3.
President’s Day Special Dinner will be on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Reservations must be made by the day before.
Brain Teasers with Hazel will be on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The Senior Bowling League is held at 1 p.m. every Friday at Elko Lanes.
The Valentine’s Day Special Dinner and Party will be held on Friday, Feb. 14. Dinner reservations must be made at least one day in advance. An asking donation of $2 is requested. The party will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost of the party is $3, which includes music for your listening or dancing pleasure by Roger and Joe, and light refreshments.

April 30: Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort. Cost is $65 which includes motorcoach transportation, coffee and strudel upon arrival, a family style dinner and a comedy show entitled “Raising Cane.”
May 14: Mount Airy Casino. Cost is $23 with a rebate of $25 and a $10 meal voucher.
May 18: Sight and Sound Theater with their new production for 2014 entitled “Moses.” Cost is only $115 which includes motorcoach transportation, show and dinner at Miller’s Smorgasbord.
July 27: Woodloch Pines Resort. Cost is $70 which includes motorcoach transportation, sweet bread upon arrival, fabulous all you can eat smorgasbord, boat rides and variety show.
The Falls Active Adult Center, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerene/Wyoming counties, is located on Route 92. It is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The center invites anyone 50 and older to the follwoing activites:
Monday: 10-11:30 a.m. Wii bowling competition with Tunkhannock Center (alternating sites); 1-2 p.m. Crocheting Club (all levels welcome).
Wednesday: 10-10:45 a.m. Walking group (weather permitting).
Tuesday: Brain games at lunch.
Thursday: Nutrition talks at lunch.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. to noon, Geocaching activity (weather permitting).
Wednesday, Feb. 5: Book Club meets at 12:45 p.m. to discuss “Bad Monkey” by Carl Hiaasen.
February 6, 13, 20 and 27: 9:30-11:30 a.m. “Dining with Diabetes” is being presented by Karen Bracey from Penn State Cooperative Extension.
Wednesday, Feb. 12: 10-11:30 a.m. “Spa Experience”, Foot Soak and Facial Mask conducted by Pattie Gregorio.
