WILKES-BARRE — Elected officials on the local, state and national levels spoke Tuesday at the grand opening of the Hillary Clinton for President campaign headquarters at 23 W. Market St. in Wilkes-Barre.
U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, was the featured speaker at the Wilkes-Barre headquarters opening, which was one of seven Clinton campaign office openings that occurred at locations across Eastern and Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Wilkes-Barre, and Wilkes-Barre Mayor Tony George also took the stage.
Local supporters and volunteers discussed Clinton’s economic plans, including making what her campaign calls “the largest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II during her first 100 days in office.”
The offices will serve as hubs for organizing activities in the area to allow supporters to mobilize and help elect Clinton and Democrats up and down the ballot on Election Day, according to the campaign.
Organizers and volunteers will host phone banks, organizing meetings, and canvasses from the office as well as from supporters’ homes across the region.
