HAZLETON — A man faces charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl repeatedly over the course of a 5-year period.

Dominic Raymond Zizzo III, 26, is accused of first molesting the victim before sexually assaulting her from the time she was 10 to 15 years old.

According to the criminal complaint:

The 17-year-old victim first reported the abuse on April 13, 2016.

An officer traveled to Pinnacle Health Children’s Resource Center in Harrisburg to interview the victim on May 20, 2016.

The victim reported that the abuse started in the basement of Zizzo’s residence in Hazleton when she was 10 or 11.

The victim reported that the assault allegedly started when Zizzo inappropriately touched her and progressed to sexual assault from when she was 10 to 15 years old.

Zizzo faces charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a victim under the age of 16, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault of a person under the age of 13, and indecent assault of person under the age of 16.

Zizzo was arraigned on his charges before District Judge Donald Whittaker on Thursday, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Zola at 10:30 a.m. on April 26.

Zizzo is jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail.
