Rain expected to return to the Wyoming Valley by Sunday

Sunshine is expected for most of the weekend in the Wyoming Valley, but the chance of rain will return by Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 51 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 74. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 48.

Sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 73. Mostly clear skies will carry over into Saturday night, with a low around 48.

Cloudy skies will wrap up the week on Sunday, with rain likely after 3 p.m. The high will be near 72.

Rain will continue to be likely before 9 p.m. Sunday night, along with a thunderstorms between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. The low will be around 59.
