WILKES-BARRE — A man was kidnapped at gunpoint and robbed of cash, according to police.

The victim, a 28-year-old male, reported to police at 1:39 a.m. Sunday that he exited the Crown Fried Chicken on South Main Street with a friend. As he walked toward his vehicle, police said suspects approached him with pistols brandished.

The suspects then pistol whipped the victim and forced him into a vehicle with other suspects, according to police. The police report did not specify how many suspects were involved. One suspect is described as a black male that is approximately 6 feet tall with a thin built. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a blue bandanna over his face.

Police said the suspects then drove the victim away, where they robbed him of cash and tied him up with his belt. Police did not say whether or not the victim suffered any injuries.

The investigation on the matter is ongoing.
