WILKES-BARRE TWP. — A 17-year-old female from Wilkes-Barre has been charged with stealing over $4,000 in goods from Kohl’s.

Wilkes-Barre Township Police responded to the department store just after 5 p.m. Monday for reports of the juvenile shoplifting. Police say she was attempting to steal $1,752.82 worth of beauty supplies and clothing before she was stopped by store security.

Security personnel told police this isn’t the first time the female had shoplifted there, saying she allegedly stole $1,666.45 worth of goods on Sept. 11 and $778.96 worth on Sept. 9.

Store security was unable to apprehend her on either date.

The total value of the three thefts was put at $4,198.23.

The juvenile was charged with retail theft, and she will be petitioned to the Luzerne County Juvenile Court.
