BUTLER TWP. — Township police have identified the man killed in a crash Sunday.

Randy Nenstiel, 52, of Sugarloaf Township, was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a van near the intersection of North Hunter Highway and Honey Hole Road, according to police.

According to a police report:

Shortly before 1 p.m., Nenstiel was traveling west on Honey Hole Road, while a van driven by Danny M. Medina Tronscoso, 40, of Hazleton, was traveling north on North Hunter Highway. A preliminary investigation indicated that the van went through a red light and hit Nenstiel’s motorcycle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Butler Township Police were assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Service Unit, the Valley Regional Fire Company and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
