Bezick, 34, is vice president of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce.

1. I started my career in sports marketing, and I went to college at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. While I was getting my business degree there, I had the opportunity to work with the Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers for two years as an intern. I moved back home to NEPA after college and landed a position at our now-Mohegan Sun Arena, where I worked for two years. Both were great experiences, and I’m still a big NBA fan.

2. One of my biggest passions is event planning. I love how creating a dynamic event can bring people together. I utilize this passion in my career at the chamber by bringing the community together for the events and programs we offer to our members. I have been a certified event planner and designer for eight years and had the opportunity a few years ago to travel with celebrity event planner David Tutera and event designer Preston Bailey, and I learned firsthand what it takes to make an event exceptional.

3. I wanted to be a Rockette when I was growing up. I took dance for 10 years and fell in love with the idea of being one after a family trip to New York City while visiting Radio City Music Hall. I practiced my high kicks hard, and after growing to only 5-foot-3, I realized I would never make the height requirement (between 5-6 and 5-10 1/2). I’m extremely happy with how my career has turned out, but seeing the Rockettes in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade always gets me thinking.

4. One of my favorite quotes is “Be the change you wish to see in the world” by Mahatma Gandhi. Some people ask where my energy comes from for all of the projects and efforts I am involved with, and I credit my hard-working parents. They were small-business owners, and I can remember them working hard every day to ensure the success of their business while also raising a family and doing a great job at both.

5. I love to ski. I grew up in White Haven, which is close to some great ski resorts, and my parents introduced my sister and me to the sport at a young age. Snow days were always a fun time for us because it meant a day at Jack Frost or Big Bolder. We still go to this day, and it really makes winter enjoyable. A big snowstorm means great conditions, so I’m a fan of a blizzard now and then.

6. While I am a snow fan and love to ski, I also am a huge beach lover. My favorite time of the year is vacation with my entire family in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Any body of water, whether it’s a lake, pool or river, instantly relaxes me, but there is nothing like being on the beach and in the ocean to unwind and recharge.

7. I am a huge animal lover. I have had pets my entire life, the most recent one an adopted plott hound from North Carolina named Layla. She has boundless energy, a tennis ball obsession that never quits, and most importantly, unconditional love. I have always been an advocate for adopting animals and probably would have 30 if I had the space.

8. My chamber team inspires me every day. They are young, full of energy and have great ideas, and they motivate me to never settle for mediocrity. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish as a team next. 2018, look out!

9. I enjoy interior design. My home as well as my office is a reflection of my personality. I love helping family and friends design spaces, whether it’s a business, nursery or living room. I also tend to go all out for holidays, so as I write this, I am planning my Christmas décor, which is my favorite holiday to decorate for by far.

10. I am a huge NEPA fan. After moving away for four years and being pretty set on not coming back, I am so glad I did. I have seen so many positive changes and consider myself extremely lucky to be on the forefront of this area’s revitalization. I am very proud of our area and look forward to its continued progress.
