HAZLETON — Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is back in his hometown of Hazleton, and he’s back helping again, too.
Maddon on Thursday donated backpacks from his Respect 90 nonprofit to Catholic Social Services of Hazleton. The backpacks are designed to help homeless people in the area.
Maddon’s annual fundraising dinner for his Hazleton One Community Center is set for Friday night at the Valley Country Club in Sugarloaf.
