HANOVER TWP. — The Board of Commissioners is extending yard waste collection to Nov. 25. Yard waste and leaves must be placed in containers. Plastic bags are not allowed. Co-mingles and newspapers must be kept separate.

DALLAS — The last pickup for curbside yard waste and recycling is during the week of Oct. 21. The fall leaf collection program begins Nov. 4 and continues through November or until the first significant winter snow event.

Leaves should be raked curbside in long, thin rows approximately three feet wide for vacuum collection. Comingling yard waste with leaves causes the vacuum equipment to malfunction. Do not place items on the roadway or in gutters. This creates a hazard for drivers and can block storm drains. Residents can also place leaves in plastic bags curbside for pickup.

Contact the administrative office, 570-675-1389, or the Road Department, 570-674-5362, with questions regarding this program.
