Michael C. Marranca, 84, of Pittston, died Friday at his home.
    Born Jan. 9, 1917, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Anthony and Sandra
(Ferrante) Marranca. He was a coal miner and a milk man for Grablick’s Dairy,
until retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Rocco’s Roman Catholic Church,
Pittston, Pittston Rod and Gun Club, Big Band Society of Northeastern
Pennsylvania and social member of the Italian Citizens Club, Pittston
Township.
   
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Saitta, Florence Analore
and Carmella Angelella; and brothers, Paul and Sam.
   
Surviving are his wife, Angeline (Aquilina) Marranca; son, Anthony, Laflin;
daughter, Leona Scarantino, Pittston Township; four grandchildren; brothers,
Joseph, West Pittston; and Carmen, Trenton, N.J.; and several nieces and
nephews.
   

   
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Graziano Funeral Home
Inc., 700 Pittston Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rocco’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in
Pittston Cemetery, Pittston. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice St. John, c/o Oak
Street, Pittston Township, 18640.
