DALLAS TWP. — Municipal offices will move into the former Hildebrandt Learning Center headquarters over the next several weeks.

Dates and times reported in a previous online story were revised by Dallas Township via a news release dated Tuesday, June 12.

A news release issued by Nancy Y. Balutis, Dallas Township secretary and treasurer, outlined the plan to move the following offices from the current municipal building at 2919 Route 309 to the new facility, located at 105 Lt. Michael Cleary Drive.

Administrative offices, which includes the township secretary, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board Secretary, and Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer will open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, in the new building.

The tax collector will open in the new office on Tuesday, June 26. Her hours will be listed on the tax bills.

The Dallas Township phone number will remain 570-674-2000.

All meetings, which includes the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board meetings, will continue at the current building through June.

Meetings will transition to the new facility in July, according to the report.

The mailing address of P.O. Box 518, Dallas, PA 18612 will stay in effect, according to the press release.

The former childcare headquarter’s was purchased by Dallas Township earlier this year with the intent to relocate administrative, zoning/code enforcement, tax collector and the police department into the 8,136-square-foot building,

The three-floor building will house the township police department on the basement level after renovations are made to accommodate the needs of officers.

The main floor will hold municipal offices and a public meeting room. The second floor is leased and occupied by state Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming).
