The Misericordia University women’s tennis team clinched a Freedom Conference Tournament berth with an 8-1 win at Eastern on Saturday.


Breanne Phillips and Rachel Bossler were double-winners for the Cougars. Cassie Foy, Emily Boro and Brittany Bressler all added singles wins.


WOMEN’S TENNIS King’s 7, Arcadia 2


King’s used a sweep of doubles play, with Sara Lynn and Madeline Griffin earning an 8-2 win over Kaila Gaughan and Emily Delp in the top flight, to take the road win.


The team of Emily Biffen and Liz Demko won 8-1 over Jasmine Peake and Viola Sawyer while Katlyn Rossowski and Nicole Molina notched a 8-6 victory over Alexandria Broome and Latoya Fluker.


Lynn, Griffin, Biffen and Molina also won singles matches.


H.S. GIRLS LACROSSE Lake-Lehman sweeps pair


Lake-Lehman picked up two wins, downing Selinsgrove 13-12 and Mifflinburg 12-3.


Alysa Adams scored seven goals against the Seals and had six goals and an assist against the Wildcats.


Mallory Wilson added two goals and three assists against Selinsgrove. Hannah Stull and Kassie Keiper had a goal and an assist each, and Makenzie Borum made 14 saves.


Against Mifflinburg, Hannah Bonomo netted two goals while Wilson (one assist), Courtney Thomas, Emily Galasso and Stull added tallies. Colleen Spencer and Ashlee Barker had assists, and Borum made 15 saves.


Coughlin 16, Crestwood 2


Brigid Wood scored six goals, and Haley Dumont and Kyra Castano each added hat tricks as the Crusaders won.


Kelsey Gabriele and Caitlin Wood posted two goals each for Coughlin.


Daniella Callaghan scored both Comets goals and Bailey Gallagher made seven saves for Crestwood.


Friday Lake-Lehman 14, Pittston Area 4


Alysa Adams had seven goals, and Mallory Wilson (two assists), Hannah Stull and Amelia Jenkins each posted two markers. Emily Galasso scored and Aleaha Blazik had an assist. Makenzie Borum made six saves.


Sara Ruby had two goals for the Patriots, with Liz Mikitish and Rachel Semansky adding goals.


COLLEGE SOFTBALL Cougars sweep Eastern


Misericordia picked up 6-5 and 3-2 victories at home.


Caitlin Cromley, Kristi Seiler and Jen Cory all homered for the Cougars in the opener, and Whitney Ellenberg and Kat LaBrie both added two hits.


Ellenberg, Seiler and Sam Hare all had two hits in the nightcap to make a winner of Jess Armillay. Cromley delivered a game-winning single.


King’s takes pair


Junior catcher Amanda Cardone went a combined 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI to power King’s past FDU-Florham, 7-4 and 11-2.


Nicolette Pizzo had two hits and drove in two in the opener. Tina Seber also had two hits.


An eight-run sixth in the nightcap was powered by an RBI double by Cardone, a two-run home run by Maggie Gola, and a two-run Erin Beane single. Katie Kowalski and Jenn Harnischfeger added bases-loaded walks.


WOMEN’S LACROSSE Manhattanville 21, King’s 16


Amanda Harney paced King’s with five goals and two assists while Mariah Masciarelli added four goals and one assist for the Monarchs.


Krystina Villarreal netted three goals while Chelsea Manes followed with two more. Catherine McMahin and Emily Foley scored one goal each. King’s goalie Alisa Marino made 13 stops.


Eastern 23, Misericordia 14


Kate Pagnotta led Misericordia with four goals, while Catie Viegas, Brooke North, Ali Elmes and Emily Hegner all added two.


MEN’S LACROSSE King’s 14, Manhattanville 7


Junior Mike O’Brien finished the game with six points (three goals, three assists) helping King’s to a home victory.


Kieran McMahon netted four goals, while Billy McCollough and Kevin Sweeney tallied two goals and one assist each.


Eastern 11, Misericordia 9


Sean McGuigan led the Cougars with three goals while Kyle Calabro added two goals and three assists.


MEN’S TENNIS King’s 6, Arcadia 3


Tony Bevevino, Jake Rohring and Chris Dimino were each double winners for the Monarchs.


Andrew Panzitta added a singles win for King’s.


Eastern 6, Misericordia 3


Eric Correll earned singles and doubles wins, and Tony Goodall added a singles win for the Cougars.

Taylor Baloga fanned eight and belted two triples in the Patriots’ win Friday.
