Joan Hooley of North Main Street in Wilkes-Barre says the blossoms on her
rhododendron bush were more prolific than usual this year. She snapped this
photograph weeks ago when Copper, her little poodle with the “cafe au lait”
fur, was out enjoying the yard. By this point in the season, Hooley said, the
summer heat has claimed all the bright pink blooms. She’s looking forward to
next year.
