King’s and Scranton played an early-season thriller on Wednesday with the visiting Royals claiming a 10-9 non-conference win over the Monarchs.

Kevin Sweeney had given King’s a 9-8 lead, but Scranton’s John Gregitis picked up the tying goal in regulation before scoring the winner with 1:38 left in the first overtime.

Kieran McMahon (three goals, assist) and Mike O’Brien (two goals, three assists) led the Monarchs. Sweeney, Kyle Wilk, and Marshall Hardy all had one goal and one assist apiece.

Misericordia 26, Alfred State 4

Patrick Kellish scored seven goals in the Cougars’ rout of Alfred State at Mangelsdorf Field. Andrew Reynolds added five goals for the hosts.

Morgan Madonna (three assists) and Lane Kocovski (assist) both finished with three goals each.


Wilkes 19, Maritime 3

Gabby Ford’s four goals and five assists powered the Lady Colonels to a road win over Maritime College, keeping Wilkes unbeaten on the young season.

Carley Smith and Tori Kerr also scored four times in the win while Madeleine Brownsey added three. Sara Gilbert, Katherine Marcoux, Ally Bicskei and Meaghan Skelly rounded out the scoring.
