It was a historic night across District 16 and 31 Little Leagues. Friday night marked the first time pool play was being used for Major Baseball prior to setting up a bracket to determine the district champions.

All teams with no losses or one loss advance to a double elimination bracket. If there are not at least four teams that meet that criteria, then the four best records will advance. The tie-breaker is runs allowed divided by defensive innings.

Pool play continues with several games on tap for today. Back Mtn. American and Wyoming/West Wyoming will meet at 4 p.m. at Swoyersville. Pittston City travels to Nanticoke at 2 p.m. Pittston Twp. will play North Wilkes-Barre at 4 p.m. at Nanticoke. Jenkins Township will meet Plains at 4 p.m. at South Wilkes-Barre. Avoca/Dupont hosts Mountain Top at 2 p.m.
