WYOMING — Winning pitcher Rocky DiBernardo tossed four innings while giving up three hits as Kingston/Forty Fort defeated Wyoming/West Wyoming 15-1 in four innings Tuesday in District 31 Little League Major Baseball.

Michael Kane and Rocko Barchi also hit home runs for KFF (3-0), which clinched a spot in the double-elimination bracket that starts June 30. Mason Milner went 2 for 2.

Riley Russin, Josh Cumbo and Dylan Williams all had hits for Wyoming/West Wyoming (1-2).

Swoyersville 11, Bob Horlacher 8

Joe Sholtis hit a go-ahead three-run homer in top of sixth to propel Swoyersville (1-2) to the win. Matt Zasada was a home run short of the cycle by going 3 for 4 with three RBI. Ben Dubaskas also had two hits with two RBI. John Farris picked up the win for Swoyersville.

Jamal Zacharas was 3 for 3 with a two-run homer for Horlacher (0-3). Andrew Martin and Zach Capitano each went 2 for 4 with a double.

Back Mountain National 11,

Northwest 1 (4 inn.)

Winning pitcher Dylan Wesley had two doubles and two RBI in the winning effort for Back Mountain National (1-1). Justin James also had a triple with two RBI . Bobby Lugian hit a double and Fred Lombardo contributed with two RBI.

Back Mountain National had a big fourth inning with nine runs.

Jeff Saxe and Tim Burke had the only two hits for Northwest (1-2).



Pittston Twp. 6,

Avoca/Dupont 3

Winning pitcher Joe Cencetti allowed three hits and broke open a close game with a three-run homer in the fifth. He also had a two-run double in first. Logan Booth, Mike Nocito, Steve Sciandra, Mark Ranielli and Lou Gali all had one hit for Pittston Township (2-1).

Dylan Lukachko, Andrew Krawczyk and Will Aldrich each had a single for Avoca/Dupont (1-2).

South Wilkes-Barre 5, Duryea 0

Luke Bottger and Anthony Macko combined for the shutout for South Wilkes-Barre (2-1). Cole Dherkas had a two-run homer and two doubles. Macko two singles. Jacob Ostrowski and single and double

Gino Marriggi had a single and double for Duryea (0-2). Jim Murtha doubled.

Pittston City 8, North Wilkes-Barre 7

Steve Yanchis hit a home run in the Pittston City (1-2) victory. Hayden Krzywicki scored three runs for North Wilkes-Barre (0-3).




Mountain Top 15,

So. Wilkes-Barre 2 (4 inn.)

Winning pitcher Adam Litchkowski had three singles and two runs to pace Mountain Top in the victory. Colin Williams was also 3 for 3 with a single, double and two RBI.

Ryan Dzurisin drove home South Wilkes-Barre’s two runs with a double in the third inning.

Pittston City 5, Duryea 2

Cole Ferranti picked up the win on the mound and had two hits to help Pittston City defeat Duryea. Nikki Dennis helped the cause with a two-RBI double in the sixth inning. Eric Pisack and Ethan Ghannam also each had a hit and each scored a run for Pittston City.

Plains 7, Pittston Twp. 6

Sayer Koretz had two hits and two RBI for Plains. Andrew Smigiel and Brenden Pomeo each had two hits and an RBI.

Joe Galonis and Sean Connors had two hits apiece for Pittston Township.

Hanover 9, Jenkins Twp. 6

Gavin Isopi, Jacob Mercadante, Brett Martinez, Nathan Jaslar and Zachary Murphy paced Hanover’s victory.

Matt Johnson had two hits for Jenkins Township.



Exeter 3, Northwest 2

Drew Mruk struck out eight batters over four scoreless innings to lead Exeter. Casey Noone, John Morgan and Matt Pelleschi each had an RBI.

Pitcher Joey Noss recorded five strikeouts and had two hits at the plate for Northwest.

Kingston/Forty Fort 20,

Harveys Lake 0 (4 inn.)

Ian Bayo pitched a no-hitter and went 3 for 3 with three doubles in the victory. Ryan Stevens was also 3 for 4 with a double.


Swoyersville 6, Tunkhannock 2

Chris Lupole picked up the win and also went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Swoyersville’s victory Monday evening. Justin Montalvo had the other RBI as Swoyersville scored three unearned runs.

Race Sick was perfect at the plate by going 2-for-2 at the plate for Tunkhannock.
