PITTSTON TWP. — State police recovered a missing 1991 Porsche on the
Northeast extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and arrested the 19-year-old
woman driving it at 4:54 p.m. Sunday.
Kathy Warenecki of Philadelphia was charged with receiving stolen property,
unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal conspiracy and driving without a
valid license. She was driving the car when police stopped the vehicle. Also
charged was a male juvenile, state police at Wyoming said.
The pair allegedly took the car earlier Sunday from St. Michael’s School in
Hoban Heights, Wyoming County, police said.
Warenecki was arraigned before District Justice James Tupper and sent to
the Luzerne County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, police said. The juvenile was
placed in the Luzerne County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police did not identify the owner of the car. No further information was
available Sunday night.
