BERWICK — Brittany McNair scored two goals and Michaela Halesey had two assists as Hanover Area continued its strong second half of the season with a 3-2 win over Berwick in WVC field hockey Saturday.

The Bulldogs were efforted by one goal each from Ky Welsh and Ashton Mensinger.

Tunkhannock 2, Northwest 0

One goal apiece by Kailyn Mikula and Marley Mason earned the visiting Tigers the victory.

Tunkhannock (7-3-1) remains in contention for the Division 2 title.

Wyoming Valley West 7, Holy Redeemer 1

Nick Singer tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Spartans to the victory, while Eddie Thomas recorded a hat trick.

Chris Pawlenok scored off a pass from Brandon Polivitus for Redeemer’s lone score.

Coughlin 8, Hazleton Area 0

Travis Keil scored one goal and had three assists in the Crusaders’ shutout win over the Cougars.

Dave Marriggi, Henry Sanchez and Tom Sebia contributed with one score and one assist by each.

Crestwood 1, Holy Redeemer 0

Kyle Gegaris scored the only goal of the game to give the Comets the victory from their Friday night matchup against the Royals.

Amelia Hossage scored the only two goals of the game to give the Hawkeyes the victory.

Irlanda Olivares made 18 saves in the net for the Cougars.

Talia Szatkowski scored four goals and Ashley Stradzus added a hat trick as the Mountaineers won.


Tiffany Zukosky had three assists, Ruby Mattson posted two goals and an assist, and Katie Snedeker chipped in with a goal and an assist in the victory.
