Wilkes volleyball outlasts Cougars

WILKES-BARRE — Casey Bohan and Kelsey Yacko combined for 32 kills and six total blocks as the Wilkes women’s volleyball team held on for a 3-2 win over visiting Misericordia in both teams’ Freedom Conference finale Wednesday night.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 22-25, 16-14.

Wilkes improves to 18-10 overall and finishes Freedom play at 6-1, while Misericordia falls to 12-17 on the year and closes out league play 3-4.

Bohan finished with 17 kills and two solo blocks, while Yacko added 15 kills on thirty attempts for the Lady Colonels.

DeSales 3, King’s 0

King’s College fell to host DeSales by scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-6.

Kelsie Kramer led King’s with four kills and one dig while Mary Loughran had 12 assists and nine digs.


King’s 5, PSU Altoona 1

King’s scored five goals in a span of 11:52 to start the game as the Monarchs cruised to a victory.

Andrew Tumiello and Daniel Hernandez each scored two goals.

Misericordia 1, Susquehanna 0

Parker McArdle scored the only goal of the game late in the first half to lift Misericordia to victory.

Barry Fitzgerald made four saves to earn the shutout.


Misericordia 3,

Franklin & Marshall 2

Emily Esposito scored two goals and helped erase an early deficit in leading Misericordia to a non-conference win.

Meghan Antrim also scored for the Cougars.
